Requirements
- A solid understanding of web development in all aspects, including HTML, CSS, caching, web standards
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Proficiency in at least one of the below languages (in order of preference)
- Java / .NET
- XML / XSLT
- Ruby
- JavaScript / JSON
- SQL
Experience with relational database systems (in order of preference)
- Oracle
- MySQL
- Microsoft SQLServer
Experience with MVC-based web frameworks will be a plus (in order of preference)
- Ruby on Rails

Project Work
- Develop websites based on designs provided using appropriate technologies for the task, or the requested technologies
- Working with the designers and content to help plan the websites, advising on any technical limitations
- Deploying websites to live environments
- Testing websites, both locally and after deployment
- Working with the designer to get it ‘pixel perfect'
- Working with content team to ensure that they understand any specifics for entering content to the website
- Creating HTML mocks of designs
- Slicing up images to be used on the websites
Ad hoc Work
- Providing support to the Software Development Team on legacy projects
- Working on projects that are required by the wider company
- Staying up to date with the latest technologies in order to provide the most up to date, appropriate solutions to problems
- Perform tasks to help the department run more efficiently (server maintenance, creating documentation for websites, etcetera)
Ongoing Work
- Maintaining the websites that have been developed
- Adding new features/functionality to existing websites
- Bug fixing
